SELECTED CONCERT SHOTS from 2024

The year ignited in blinding light under the colossal shadows Megadeth, where every frame felt carved in steel and fire. The immortal presence of Judas Priest roared like a living relic, while the neoclassical fury of Yngwie Malmsteen flashed in sharp, golden streaks. The ritualistic weight of Rotting Christ and the thunder of Cavalera brothers merged with the crushing precision of Decapitated and Nervosa, while Apocalyptica and Pain of Salvation painted elegance within the storm. Even the shadows shimmered through the introspective mastery of Ihsahn, the emotional tides of Soen, and the melodic depth of Evergrey, transforming each performance a fleeting monument to sound and light.

And then came the pilgrimage north to the great Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, where the days blurred into a single, relentless pulse. There, amidst heat and distortion, names like Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Parkway Drive, Amorphis, Alestorm, and Bury Tomorrow erupted in waves, while Stam1na, Kaunis Kuolematon, Ghostkid, Health, Annisokay and Beyond the Black turned the grounds into a living organism of rhythm and sweat. It was less a festival and more a storm to be survived and captured in fragments.

Yet, as the year waned, the lens drifted closer to the ground—toward the pulse of smaller stages and dim-lit rooms. The folk mysticism of Metsatöll and the wild mischief of Finntroll, the introspective shadows of Austere and the rising echoes of Oddland. Then came the raw, unfiltered truth - Odd Crew, Me and My Devil, Maltworm, Dimholt, Embrace by Dark, Alien Acid Blood, Audry, where the distance between artist and observer dissolved completely.

The essence of the year revealed itself most clearly, not in scale, but in pristine sincerity. 2025 became a mosaic of contrasts, a journey from thunder to whisper with each photograph being a quiet act of defiance against time, preserving the fragile, vanishing soul of sound.

SELECTED CONCERT SHOTS from 2023

2023 submerged, as if being a restless reel of smoke, neon and sound burst, beginning beneath the blazing spectacle of Beast in Black, whose futuristic anthems erupted in bursts of electric color and movement. The virtuoso flames of Firewind and the cinematic melancholy of Saor transformed stages into vast emotional landscapes, while The Aristocrats and the legendary presence of Don Airey in Plovdiv's summer theatre brought a timeless elegance to the chaos. Even the cold industrial pulse of Laibach seemed less like a concert and more like a monochrome dystopia projected through the lens into a rigid, hypnotic and unforgettable manner.

Yet one of the year’s defining chapters unfolded far from home, in the gothic heart of Prague, where At the Gates, Saturnus, and The Foreshadowing shared a night drenched in shadow and catharsis - a true melodic violence colliding with funeral melancholy beneath dim lights and clouds of stage fog.

And as the grand stages faded into smaller underground sanctuaries, the year revealed its rawest heartbeat. Exarsis and Biocancer delivered pure kinetic fury, while the crushing force of Terravore and the darkness surrounding Certain Demise turned intimate venues into boiling chambers of sweat, noise and adrenaline. Even Uninie, Alien Acid Blood and Audry carried its own fragile spark within the storm, where the closure between an artist and fanbase dissolved completely.

2023 became more than a chronology of gigs. Through the camera lens each concert became a fleeting constellation. Soaking the brilliance for a moment, then gone forever except for the echoes trapped inside the frame.

SELECTED CONCERT SHOTS from 2022

2022 arrived like the return of a long-silenced amplifier, disclosing itself quite emotional and overflowing with the hunger of live music reborn. The year witnessed the monumental shadow of Iron Maiden in Arena 8888 in Sofia, whose colossal stage spectacle felt like stepping inside a myth forged from steel, war banners and endless choruses. Around them the apocalyptic grandeur of Septicflesh, the merciless old-school weight of Asphyx and the icy precision of Hypocrisy gathered titanic forces. Meanwhile, Lord of the Lost painted the stage in theatrical darkness, while Wardruna and Kalandra, hosted in the Ancient theatre in Pliovdiv, transformed sound into something ancient and almost spiritual - music that felt carved from forests, stone and northern winds..

But the true heartbeat of the year thundered within the sprawling chaos of Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, where Helsinki itself seemed to pulse in double-bass rhythms and distorted echoes. The festival unfolded like a fever dream beneath the pale Nordic sky. Korn unleashed raw catharsis upon oceans of bodies, while the occult majesty of Mercyful Fate turned the night into a living horror opera. Amorphis and Omnium Gatherum carried the melancholic soul of Finland itself, while Eluveitie and Heilung summoned tribal energies that felt older than language. There was fire and fury in Jinjer, razor-edged precision in Soilwork and reckless youthful chaos in Lost Society. Even moments of introspection emerged through Shape of Despair, Elder, Wheel and Bloodred Hourglass - bands that turned heaviness into atmosphere and atmosphere into something almost cinematic.

In retrospect, 2022 felt like a resurrection. After silence and distance, concerts returned not merely as events, but as sacred gatherings of noise, emotion and human connection. Through the camera lens, the year became a gallery of rebirth with smokes illuminated by white spotlights, faces lost in chorus, hands raised against the night sky and fleeting seconds rescued forever from oblivion.
