Released on November 5, 2015, Vanguard’s I Want to Live marked the Swedish synthpop/futurepop duo’s first official release through Infacted Recordings and served as a strong preview of their 2016 album Never Surrender. Issued as a 7-track EP featuring several remixes by acts such as "Torul", "Interface", and "FGFC820", the single showcases Vanguard’s signature mix of nostalgic 80s-inspired synth melodies and sleek modern electronic production. Driven by pulsating beats, emotional vocals, and an instantly memorable chorus, I Want to Live balances melancholic atmosphere with uplifting energy, making it equally suited for both personal listening and the dancefloor. Lyrically centered on struggle, perseverance, and the desire for change, the song carries an emotional sincerity that adds depth to its polished sound. While it doesn’t reinvent the synthpop or futurepop formula, its strong melodic hooks, relatable themes, and club-friendly appeal make it a compelling and effective release, especially for fans of bands like Mesh or Depeche Mode.
