On their debut full-length Air, Contrails emerge as one of Bulgaria’s most daring and forward-thinking modern hard rock acts, crafting a record that breathes with cinematic atmosphere, technical precision, and emotional depth. The album fuses soaring melodic passages with crushing rhythmic architecture, balancing progressive complexity and raw intensity in a way that feels both intellectually ambitious and viscerally powerful. Air unfolds like a conceptual journey through vast sonic landscapes. It feels ethereal and weightless for a moment, then thunderous and earth-shaking the next. This is clearly showcasing the band’s ability to weave intricate musicianship with memorable hooks and an almost spiritual sense of scale.

As a debut, it is remarkably mature and self-assured, positioning Contrails not merely as a promising new name on the Bulgarian scene, but as a band with the potential to leave a lasting mark far beyond it.
